AT&T expands fiber internet access across Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, La. — AT&T marked a significant infrastructure milestone Tuesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the David Raines Recreation Center, celebrating the expansion of high-speed fiber internet across Shreveport.
Company officials announced that AT&T Fiber is now available to more than 107,000 locations in the area.
AT&T Louisiana President David Aubrey highlighted the focus on underserved communities, stating, "We recognize that the MLK area oftentimes is overlooked. But it doesn't negate the fact that these people need access to improve their quality of life and participate in telehealth."
State Sen. Sam Jenkins added, "Having access to internet now is just as important as having electricity."
The expansion of the fiber network in Shreveport brings internet access to more than 12,500 additional homes and businesses in the area.
"This investment in next-generation connectivity helps strengthen communications resiliency for residents, businesses and first responders," company officials said.
