Arrest made in Mansfield police officer-involved shooting

MANSFIELD, La. -- An arrest has been made in connection with an officer-involved shooting reported early Tuesday morning in Mansfield. Mansfield police identified the suspect in the shooting as JayXaiver Wilson, 20, of Mansfield. He's currently held in the Caddo Correctional Center on charges of being an in-state fugitive and resisting an officer. Louisiana State Police arrested Wilson, according to the police department. The CCC booking record indicates he was jailed after 5 p.m. Tuesday. No details have been released about the incident by either the police department or state police. A news release from LSP simply states it was asked to investigate the shooting by the DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office. It happened on U.S. Highway 171 near U.S. Highway 84 in Mansfield. There was no indication if anyone was injured.
