Another day, another buckle: U.S. Highway 171 closed again
GRAND CANE, La. -- Northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 171 are closed again this afternoon after the roadway has experienced another heat-related buckle.
A new buckle has popped up on U.S. Highway 171 north of Abington Road.

The closure is just north of Abbington Road, which is north of Grand Cane. This is not the same location as the buckle that popped up Friday evening.
Southbound lanes remain open at this time.
The state highway department has been notified and is en route to make repairs.
All lanes of the highway were closed for hours Friday because of a buckle south of Kickapoo. Seven vehicles were involved in a crash at the scene. Several drivers were taken to the hospital to be checked out for minor injuries.
DOTD completed repairs early Saturday morning.
