SHREVEPORT, La. - There are a lot of things in Shreveport that everyone can all be very proud of. But, there is nothing quite like Shriners Children's Hospital.
SHREVEPORT, La. - There are a lot of things in Shreveport that everyone can all be very proud of. But, there is nothing quite like Shriners Children's Hospital.
They have been taking care of kids from all over the world for over 100 years.
In 1920, polio was running rampant in Shreveport and much of the United States. A group of Shriners said a hospital was needed to treat the disease.
In 1922, the very first Shriners Children's hospital opened in Shreveport.
Since then, millions of kids have been helped system wide.
