America 250 fact of the day: Oil boom

LOGANSPORT, La. - As we approach the 250th anniversary of America, KTBS 3/KPXJ CW 21 continues to celebrate this history of our nation.

In the early 1900s, northwest Louisiana helped ignite the state's oil boom. By 1910, discoveries in Caddo and the DeSoto Red River field pushed industries north. Caddo Parish erupted boomtowns. Together Caddo, DeSoto, Red River and Ouchita Parishes reshaped Louisiana's economy for decades.
