Data Centers

SHREVEPORT, La. - Amazon is hosting a public open house in Shreveport on Tuesday to discuss its planned data center development in Northwest Louisiana.

The event runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Shreveport Convention Center. Members of the public will have the opportunity to speak directly with project leaders and experts to ask questions and learn more about the facility.

According to Amazon, the data centers are expected to create more than 700 jobs across the region. However, the project has also drawn public concern regarding its potential energy and water consumption.

Organizers say the open house is open to all community members interested in learning more or voicing their input on the development.
