2 wanted in downtown Shreveport hotel homicide

SHREVEPORT, La. -- Shreveport police detectives are asking for the public’s help locating two men wanted in connection with a deadly shooting and attempted robbery Monday night at a downtown Shreveport hotel. Arrest warrants have been issued for Kamrin J. Brown, 22, of Ferriday, and JaQuarius Davis, 23, on charges of second-degree murder and attempted armed robbery. Both are considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached, according to Shreveport police. A third suspect remains unidentified. The shooting happened around 1:20 a.m. at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites on Lake Street. Derrick Wayne Coleman Jr., 32, was shot multiple times in the parking lot and died later at the hospital. Investigators used surveillance footage, witness interviews and evidence gathered at the scene, along with assistance from law enforcement agencies in Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas to identify Brown and Davis as suspects.
