RACELAND, La. — Kenan "Ken" Urker, the former fiance of Gypsy Rose Blanchard and father of her child, was found dead Thursday at a home in Raceland, Louisiana, according to local law enforcement. He was 34.
The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office reported that deputies responded to a home at approximately 6:15 p.m. Thursday after receiving a call. Urker was pronounced dead at the scene, according to sheriff's office representatives.
Authorities have launched an ongoing death investigation, according to the sheriff's office. Officials have not officially released a cause of death.
Sources told TMZ that Urker was discovered unresponsive by a relative on his birthday. Blanchard told People magazine she believes Urker died of an overdose, though she noted she did not know if it was intentional.
Urker and Blanchard first connected as prison pen pals while Blanchard was serving a sentence for her role in the 2015 murder of her mother, Clauddine "Dee Dee" Blanchard. The couple announced their engagement in 2018 before later breaking up.
Following Blanchard's release from prison in December 2023 and her subsequent separation from husband Ryan Anderson, she and Urker rekindled their relationship. The couple welcomed a daughter, Aurora Raina, in December 2024.
