Bellevue man faces eluding, drug possession charges following Montgomery, Mills county pursuit

(Red Oak) -- A Nebraska man faces charges following a pursuit in Montgomery and Mills counties early Tuesday morning.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says at around 2:25 a.m., deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the 1200 block of U.S. Highway 34 for a traffic offense. Authorities say the driver, identified as 37-year-old Markus Allen Crom of Bellevue, failed to yield, leading to a high-speed pursuit throughout Montgomery and Mills counties. The sheriff's office says the incident ended in a foot pursuit in the 500 block of North 4th Street in Red Oak at around 2:50 a.m.

Crom was arrested and charged with felony eluding, possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine 1st offense, and was cited for no valid driver's license.

Crom is being held at the Montgomery County Jail without bond pending a court appearance.

The Montgomery County K9 Unit, Mills County Sheriff's Office and K9 Unit, Red Oak Police Department, Montgomery County Communications, and Mills County Communications assisted with the incident.
