TEXARKANA, Ark. — The countdown to a new school year is underway, with the second annual Texarkana Community Back to School Bash set on July 25 to celebrate.

The event is open to families from all local school districts from 9 a.m. to noon at Razorback Stadium, located at 1900 E. 18th St. in Texarkana, Ark.

There will be live entertainment, music, bounce houses, face painting, games and interactive activities. There will also be opportunities to connect with local schools, churches, businesses, nonprofits and civic organizations dedicated to supporting student success.

One of the highlights of the day is the free backpack and school supply giveaway, which will be available while supplies last. Organizers say families should arrive at 9 a.m. to give students the best chance of receiving a backpack filled with essential school supplies. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

"The Back to School Bash is more than just a fun event—it's a celebration of our students, our families, and our community," said Genia Bullock, Texarkana Arkansas School District public relations director. "When our community comes together to support children, we send a powerful message that every student matters. We hope families will join us as we launch another incredible school year filled with opportunity, connection, and success."

CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System and numerous community partners, including local businesses, schools, churches, nonprofit organizations, civic groups and volunteers make the event possible.

Admission is free.
