The NBA Summer League came to a close Sunday, with former Missouri players Mark Mitchell, Trevon Brazile and Jevon Porter wrapping up the final day of action in Las Vegas.

The day began with Mitchell and Brazile’s Denver Nuggets defeating the Toronto Raptors 96-89 in a consolation matchup.

Mitchell received his biggest opportunity of Summer League, earning a start and playing 21 minutes. The former Tiger finished with six points on 1-of-6 shooting, going 0-for-1 from 3-point range and 2-for-2 from the free throw line. He also recorded one rebound.

Despite the increased playing time and expanded role, Mitchell struggled to find his rhythm throughout the contest. The shots did not fall early, and he was unable to establish the same offensive consistency he showed in flashes throughout the week. While his defensive versatility and physical approach remained noticeable, the scoring opportunities never fully developed in his final Summer League appearance.

Brazile did not play in Denver’s victory.

The final game of the Summer League featured Jevon Porter and the Memphis Grizzlies facing the Golden State Warriors for the championship. The Warriors defeated Memphis 94-90 to claim the NBA Summer League title.

Porter did not enter the championship game. The Grizzlies advanced through the playoff bracket after earning the No. 2 seed and defeating the Houston Rockets in the semifinals before falling just short of the championship.

Last week featured several strong performances from former Missouri players. Among all Summer League participants, two former Tigers stood out as some of the most productive players in Las Vegas: John Tonje and Brazile.

Tonje consistently provided scoring for the Boston Celtics, showcasing his shooting ability, confidence and ability to create offense throughout the event. Brazile made his impact through his athleticism, rebounding and defensive presence, providing one of the most complete performances among former Tigers in action.

The conclusion of Summer League marked the end of a productive stretch for Missouri alumni looking to make their mark in front of NBA organizations. From Tonje’s scoring bursts to Brazile’s all-around production and Grill’s shooting display, several former Tigers may have created opportunities for themselves during the week in Las Vegas.
