Omarion Miller, Mikaylah Williams hold backpack giveaways

VIVIAN, La. -- Omarion Miller and Mikaylah Williams held backpack and school supply giveaways on Saturday.

Miller, a North Caddo product and Arizona State wide receiver, held his at North Caddo Elementary.

"Just a feeling of being able to give back has been something I wanted to do for a long time. Why not do it for my hometown and the school I came from?" Miller said. "It means a lot, man. The support from everybody in the community just to show up and support me. Man, it means the world."

Williams, a Parkway product and LSU women's basketball guard, held her giveaway at the gym on the LSUS campus.

"I think I've always been big on giving back to the community. I've been blessed. And like I always say, I'm blessed and I want to bless others," Williams said. "I mean, everybody came. All the backpacks gone, food gone. So, I'm blessed that everybody was able to make it get their backpacks. And we had fun. They played basketball, we took pictures, we danced. So, it was fun."

Williams said there was a stock of 200 backpacks.
