Missouri held practice Wednesday, the final one that will be open to the media. The Tigers worked on a drill with wide receivers going one-on-one against defensive backs.

Mizzou wide out Karsten Fiene (82) juggles tennis balls to work on hand-eye coordination Wednesday at the Mizzou Athletics Training Complex in Columbia. Fiene committed to Mizzou after winning the Class 6 championship in Missouri with Lee's Summit.
Mizzou wide out Jabari Brady (11), right, catches the pass around defensive back Ahmod Billins (35) on Wednesday at the Mizzou Athletics Training Complex in Columbia. Brady is a freshman at Mizzou after playing at Monarch High School in Florida.
The last open practice of Mizzou’s fall camp Wednesday featured some spirited battles between the receivers and defensive backs.
The drill in which receivers were going one-on-one against defensive backs on fade and outside flat routes started with Donovan Olugbode making an impressive adjustment to haul in a catch behind cornerback Nicholas DeLoach Jr. on a flat route near the sideline. Shaun Terry made a catch on the same route with safety Santana Banner in coverage.
In just about all the reps, the physicality of the defensive backs stood out. Freshman cornerback Jaxson Gates had a nice pass breakup when defending Kenric Lanier II. STAR Kensley Louidor-Faustin used his hands to deflect a pass when defending a fade route. And though he allowed Lanier to make a catch over the middle, Nasir Pogue did a good job of laying a thump at the catch point.
Earlier in the practice, the team ran through 2-point conversions. In that drill, Missouri continued to rotate through different defensive back lineups, as it has throughout fall practices. Oregon transfer Jahlil Florence and DeLoach were in the first lineup, while Oregon transfer Sione Laulea and junior Cameron Keys were with the second. These personnel decisions could’ve been specific to the situation.
Wednesday was the last day of fall practice that was open to the media. After an off day tomorrow, the team will practice again Friday before a scrimmage Saturday. Coach Eli Drinkwitz is set to speak to the media Saturday to give his final thoughts on the preseason.
Four Tigers make coaches’ All-SEC preseason team
Four Missouri players were named to the SEC’s preseason all-conference team voted on by all 16 of the league’s head coaches.
Running back Ahmad Hardy and offensive tackle Cayden Green earned first-team nods. Hardy was one of two running backs on the team, joined by former Missouri player Kewan Lacy, who is now at Ole Miss.
Long snapper Brett Le Blanc was named to the second team. The Wisconsin product is entering his fourth year as the Tigers’ starter.
Finally, linebacker Robert Woodyard Jr. was named to the third team. The Auburn transfer recorded 67 total tackles last season, including seven for loss.
Receiver Brady walks off practice field with trainers
Freshman wide receiver Jabari Brady was assisted by trainers off the practice field after he leaped to make a catch. Brady was limping with the help of trainers before leaving the practice field.
Brady left during the final period of practice open to the media, so it’s unknown if he returned.
At 6-foot-1, 212 pounds, Brady is a three-star prospect out of Monarch High School in Coconut Creek, Florida. He chose Missouri over Georgia, Ohio State and others.
The first few weeks of the season could be especially valuable to Brady, as that’s when he would be most likely to earn playing time in his debut season.
Brady’s exit came during the aforementioned drill featuring receivers going against defensive backs. The play Brady made was impressive, as he jumped over the back of freshman cornerback Ahmod Billins on a fade route to the end zone.
