Mizzou football names Week 3 as Memorial Stadium's 100th anniversary game
Mizzou Athletics announced Tuesday that the Tigers' Week 3 matchup against Troy on Sept. 19 will serve as the official 100th anniversary game for Memorial Stadium's landmark year.

As Memorial Stadium’s completion draws nearer, Tuesday marked 100 days until Mizzou football coach Eli Drinkwitz and the Tigers take the field to launch the 2026-27 season.
To commemorate the milestone, Mizzou Athletics announced Tuesday that the Tigers’ Week 3 matchup against Troy on Sept. 19 will serve as the official 100th anniversary game for Memorial Stadium’s landmark year.
More details will be announced later this summer, but the Missouri faithful can expect “special recognitions, commemorative moments and fan activities,” according to a Mizzou Athletics release. MU will also unveil memorabilia items and merchandise collections over the coming months to recognize the legacy of the stadium.
Memorial Stadium’s groundbreaking took place in December 1925, and it was opened and dedicated Oct. 2, 1926. The stadium was built as tribute to MU students and alumni who lost their lives in World War I.
Memorial Stadium’s $250 million north end zone renovation will be revealed for the Tigers’ season opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Sept. 3 in Columbia.
