Charles “Tre” Britton III

Mizzou football’s 2027 recruiting class got a boost Tuesday with the commitment of three-star wide receiver Charles “Tre” Britton III. He announced his commitment on the CBS Sports College Football YouTube channel.

Britton, who plays at Belleville High School in the Detroit suburbs, is listed as 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds. He is ranked as the No. 87 wideout in the nation and the No. 12 overall player in Michigan by 247Sports. Britton finished his junior year eighth in the state with 912 receiving yards while scoring 10 touchdowns.

The wide receiver took his official visit to Mizzou back in early June. Miami and Michigan were the other finalists. He received several other high-end offers, including from Alabama, Indiana and Oklahoma.

Britton is the 19th member so far of coach Eli Drinkwitz’s 2027 class. He is the third wide receiver in the class, joining four-star prospects Chris Harris Jr. and Lawrence Britt.

Following Britton’s commitment, the Tigers’ class is ranked No. 26 in the nation and No. 10 in the SEC.
