The first four rounds of the 2026 MLB Draft took place Thursday afternoon, and a handful of prospects with Missouri ties were selected, two of which played college ball at Missouri under head coach Kerrick Jackson.

The first Tiger to be drafted was right-handed pitcher Josh McDevitt, who spent each of the last three seasons at Missouri and was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks with the No. 116 overall pick.

McDevitt completed a breakout 2026 campaign, starting 15 games, pitching 79⅓ innings, striking out 102 batters and boasting a 4.42 ERA, leading the Tigers in the latter three statistics.

Additionally, he held opponents to four hits or fewer in 10 of his 15 starts on the season.

Shortstop Kam Durnin was the next Tiger to be drafted, being selected by the Houston Astros with the No. 121 overall pick.

Durnin, a Linn Creek product, also saw a breakout ’26 campaign, making an instant impact in his first season with MU after spending the previous two at Wichita State.

Durnin’s .329 batting average and 1.007 OPS led all Missouri batters with 10 or more plate appearances on the season. He also logged 52 hits, nine homers and 25 RBI.

While Durnin and McDevitt were the only Tigers to be selected on Day 1, Jackson product Caden Bogenpohl was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies with the No. 64 overall pick. Bogenpohl played college ball at Missouri State.

Battle High School senior Tyler Putnam, who was named the 2025-26 Gatorade Missouri Baseball Player of the Year, headlines the names with Missouri ties still waiting to be selected. Mizzou shortstops Payton Basler and Brock Daniels; Mizzou outfielders Isaiah Frost; Pierre Seals and Kaden Peer; and Mizzou pitchers Javyn Pimental and Dane Bjorn are also waiting to hear their names called.
