Designed to provide broad exposure to the Energy - Broad segment of the equity market, the Global X U.S. Electrification ETF (ZAP) is a passively managed exchange traded fund launched on December 17, 2024.
While an excellent vehicle for long term investors, passively managed ETFs are a popular choice among institutional and retail investors due to their low costs, transparency, flexibility, and tax efficiency.

It has amassed assets over $465.49 million, making it one of the average sized ETFs attempting to match the performance of the Energy - Broad segment of the equity market. ZAP seeks to match the performance of the GLOBAL X U.S. ELECTRIFICATION INDEX before fees and expenses.
The Global X U.S. Electrification Index tracks the performance of U.S. listed companies domiciled in developed markets and involved in electrification.
Costs
Investors should also pay attention to an ETF's expense ratio. Lower cost products will produce better results than those with a higher cost, assuming all other metrics remain the same.
Annual operating expenses for this ETF are 0.5%, making it on par with most peer products in the space.

The top 10 holdings account for about 41.03% of total assets under management.

Year-to-date, the Global X U.S. Electrification ETF has added about 13.2% so far, and it's up approximately 16.88% over the last 12 months (as of 08/10/2026). ZAP has traded between $27.5 and $35 in this past 52-week period.
The ETF has a beta of 0.57 and standard deviation of 16.53% for the trailing three-year period. With about 47 holdings, it has more concentrated exposure than peers.
