Troy Jackson raised the third most out of U.S. Senate candidates through his party’s national fundraising platform in July. 

Jackson, who replaced former Democratic nominee Graham Platner during the final week that month, raised just over $5.3 million through ActBlue, according to the latest filing Thursday night. 

Much of that total, more than $1.2 million, came in on July 25, the day he was officially selected. That was the most on a single day for any committee on ActBlue in July. 

Jackson’s fundraising through the platform tapered off through the rest of the month. August figures won’t be available until next month. ActBlue data is not comprehensive of his campaign’s entire stockpile, which he isn’t required to report to the Federal Elections Commission until October. 

That $5 million is still below the $11 million cash on hand incumbent Republican U.S. Sen. Susan Collins reported during the last filing deadline through June 30. The five-term senator also maintains a financial edge via the backing of outside groups. 

Jackson is navigating a compressed campaign after Platner dropped out of Maine’s Senate race on July 8 following an accusation of sexual assault. Coming off of a recent loss in the Democratic gubernatorial primary, Jackson quickly consolidated support for his Senate bid, becoming the presumptive replacement before official votes were cast at a nominating convention organized by the state party in a matter of weeks. 

As for other Democratic Senate candidates, incumbent Jon Ossoff of Georgia raised the most via ActBlue in July, about $8.7 million, and James Talarico of Texas raised the second-most, roughly $7.6 million.
