Retired Teacher Releases Third Collection of Bible Stories for Beginning Readers

"3 More Bible Stories for Beginning Readers" introduces young children to Scripture through simple vocabulary

SYLVA, N.C., Aug. 31, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Retired teacher and reading specialist Janice Burnette has released "3 More Bible Stories for Beginning Readers," the third book in her series designed to help young children build reading skills while learning Bible stories. The book retells the stories of Zacchaeus, the healing of the lame man and Jesus' post-resurrection appearance to His disciples through age-appropriate vocabulary, short sentences and repetition.

Drawing on years of experience teaching beginning and struggling readers, Burnette developed the series to support early literacy while introducing children to biblical accounts. Each story is presented in a predictable format with large-print text and illustrations intended to help new readers build confidence as they practice reading independently or alongside a parent, teacher or caregiver.
