CARY, N.C., Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Miracle League of the Triangle marked its 20th anniversary on Saturday, Sept. 12, by honoring 22 players and five coaches who have participated continuously since the league's inaugural season in 2006.
The special on-field celebration was held at Andy's Foundation Field, the organization's original field at Adams Elementary School in Cary. The event featured food trucks, ice cream, family activities and opportunities for the community to celebrate two decades of inclusive baseball.
Since opening its first field in Cary with slightly more than 100 players, the Miracle League of the Triangle has grown to serve more than 650 players each season across fields in Cary, Raleigh and Durham. Over those 20 years, thousands of volunteers have supported the league's mission of creating positive life experiences for children and adults with disabilities through baseball.
"This celebration is about the people who have made the Miracle League what it is today," said Benjy Capps, executive director of the Miracle League of the Triangle. "For 20 years, these players and coaches have shown up with enthusiasm, determination and joy. They have built friendships, inspired thousands of volunteers and reminded all of us what inclusion truly looks like. They are the heart of our Miracle League family."

The celebration was part of the Miracle League of the Triangle's yearlong 20th anniversary observance, themed "This Is What a Dream Looks Like!" The theme honors the founders, volunteers, families, donors and community partners who helped transform a dream into an organization that now serves more than 650 players each season at three Triangle locations.
