For the second consecutive year, Vaughn is ranked #1 for "Social Mobility," #8 for "Top Colleges" in New York state and in the top 20 for "Best Value" colleges in the Northeast. Vaughn was also recognized as #11 in "Top Private Colleges – Regional Colleges (North), a new category for US News," and #11 for "Best Colleges for Veterans." The 2027 edition of the U.S. News Best Colleges rankings evaluates more than 1,700 U.S. colleges and universities, using up to 17 factors to measure academic quality and graduate success.

"Social mobility is the evidence that we are providing a transformational education for our students and a pathway to a highly employable, strong career path with top earning potential," said Vaughn College President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Sharon B. DeVivo. "And being recognized in the top 10 in New York state this year is a testament to our dedicated community of faculty and staff who help our graduates succeed."

Achieving #1 in the social mobility ranking reinforces the findings of a study by The Equality of Opportunity Project, reported in The New York Times, recognizing Vaughn as the number one institution in the country in economic mobility—the best at moving students from the bottom in income levels to the top; and a study by the New York City Economic Development Corporation which ranks Vaughn as #1 in economic mobility in the five boroughs.

"Higher education is an investment in a student's future, and we're proud to recognize the institutions that continue to raise the bar for academic excellence," said LaMont Jones, Ed.D., managing editor for education at U.S. News. "The Best Colleges rankings celebrate schools that demonstrate outstanding commitment to student success, providing prospective families with a roadmap to discover high-performing institutions that align with their specific academic, career and personal goals."

U.S. News publishes its Best Colleges rankings each year to provide prospective students and their families with the comparative merits of the undergraduate programs at America's colleges and universities. The rankings, which date back to 1983, offer detailed information of the institutions and data on factors such as graduation rates and post-graduate earnings.
