The City of Sugar Hill is offering families a respite from the scorching heat with a fun movie series this week.

As most of Georgia faces heat advisories and extreme humidity, Sugar Hill’s Summer Break Bash Movies offers a cool, indoor opportunity at the Eagle Theatre for families looking for fun summer activities.

Parents and children will enjoy the lineup of family-friendly movies screening July 6-10 in the elegant space, usually housing live productions and musicals. The theater kicks off the series tonight with “Despicable Me 4” as the opening film. Audiences can laugh along with Gru and the minions while enjoying concession stands, fresh popcorn and beverages.

The following nights offer attendees laughs, magic and dragons.

Tuesday, July 7, “A Minecraft Movie” will hit the big screen, followed by “The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants” on Wednesday, July 8.

Encanto will bring the audience on a journey as catchy tunes and magic capture the attention of viewers on Thursday, July 9. The finale closes the Summer Bash with DreamWorks’ iconic “How to Train Your Dragon” as the audience joins Hiccup and Toothless on their flights and adventures throughout the film on Friday, July 10.

Movies begin at 7 p.m. each night. Interested patrons can purchase tickets for $2, making it an inexpensive option to enjoy summer fun. The Summer Break Bash Pass offers an alternative for $10, allowing access to every movie throughout the week, plus one free popcorn per person, per day.
