Spill shuts ramp, sends traffic into a jam
A spill has shut down a westbound Highway 20 ramp leading to northbound Highway 13 in Montreal, causing severe traffic congestion in the area, according to Quebec’s Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable (MTMD/MTQ).

The ramp from Highway 20 westbound to Highway 13 northbound is completely closed while cleanup and recovery work continues.
Two of the three northbound lanes on Highway 13 are also closed near the Highway 20 interchange.
The MTMD’s Quebec 511 service first logged a restriction at 3:53 a.m., when one of the two lanes on the connecting ramp was blocked.
The alert was updated at 4:10 a.m. to indicate complete closures affecting connecting routes between Highway 20 and northbound Highway 13.
By 5:18 a.m., the alert had been refined to indicate a full closure of the westbound Highway 20 ramp toward northbound Highway 13 because of the spill.
The closure is expected to remain in place for an undetermined period as recovery and cleanup continue.
