Berks County woman sentenced to 16-40 years for the death of her 3-year-old daughter in 2022

READING, Pa. - A Berks County woman has been sentenced to 16 to 40 years behind bars in the death of her three-year-old daughter in 2022.
On Tuesday, 37-year-old Solange J. White pleaded guilty but mentally ill to third-degree murder.
White was previously charged in 2022 with criminal homicide, endangering the welfare of children, and aggravated assault, officials say.
Authorities say White strangled her three-year-old daughter until she was not moving and was blue in the face in their home in Exeter Township back in 2022.
Whites plea comes the same week her trial was set to begin.
